Spurs have signed of Clare Hunt from Paris Saint-Germain, subject to international clearance and work visa.
The Australia international has agreed a deal with the club that will run until 2027 and will wear shirt number 15.
Born in Grenfell, Australia, Clare started her career with Canberra United and progressed through the academy to make her professional debut for the A-League side in November, 2016.
During her time with the Australian capital club, the defender also studied at the University of Sydney and represented the Women’s football team in the National Premier League in the off-season, before joining A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers in September, 2021.
Clare was named captain in her second season with the club and, after featuring in all but one game in the A-League campaign, she was voted in the PFA A-League’s Team of the Season and was subsequently handed her first call-up to the Australia senior squad.
After spending seven seasons in her native country, the defender would make the switch to Paris Saint-Germain in September, 2023, and featured in 13 games in the French top-flight league, helping her side to finish second in the table, while also lifting the French Cup after beating Fleury 1-0 in the final in May, 2024.
On the international stage, Clare made her senior debut for the Australia national team in February, 2023, and was later selected for the 2023 FIFA World Cup on home soil, featuring in seven games for the Matildas as they reached the semi-final of the competition, with the defender included in the tournament’s All-star XI. She was also named in the 2024 Olympic squad last month, playing every single minute during their campaign in Paris.
