READ: Arsenal star finally ends dire winless run in Amsterdam

Goals: Weghorst, Gakpo (both pens), Dumfries, Koopmeiners (N)

Jurriën Timber's Netherlands secured a place in the quarter-finals of the Nations League thanks to a resounding 4-0 win over Hungary in Amsterdam.

Level on points before kick-off but with the Dutch boasting a better goal difference, back-to-back first-half penalties by Wout Weghorst and Cody Gakpo set Oranje on their way. Denzel Dumfries added his name to the scoresheet with a sumptuous volley on 64 minutes before Juve's Teun Koppmeiners rose highest to plant Dumfries' perfect delivery into the top corner late on to seal the deal for Ronald Koeman's men.

And it could have been higher had Donyell Malen's acrobatic effort not been saved by Denes Dibusz and Weghorst's attempt hit the underside of the crossbar instead.

Gunners left-back Timber played the full 90 minutes with authority but was not particularly tested defensively or lively going forward.

He had a crack from distance on the hour-mark which only required a routine save by Hungary's goalie.

It was a clash between arguably the finest sides of the 50s and 70s which the Dutch, who lost a World Cup final on the 20th anniversary of the mighty Magyars' Bern ignominy back in 1974, won without having to try hard. Cruijff and Puskas, united by the same cruel fate, watched from above.

But it's Cruijff who is the happier of the two in his grave tonight as Timber ended his personal three-game losing streak.

Assistant coach Adam Szalai was taken ill during the game but is reportedly in stable condition.
