Tottenham Spur hotshot Wilson Odobert has spoken to Capital Football ahead of the quarter-final first-leg with Eintracht Frankfurt tonight. Here is what he said.
The 3-1 win over Southampton on Sunday must be a great way to play yourself into form and confidence for Frankfurt?
"It's great preparation and we'll keep working."
What's gone wrong this season? Would winning the Europa League right all the wrongs and salvage it?
"It happens to all the clubs, it's a spell. But we're looking to turn the tide now. Frankfurt have good players but we'll be prepared. We're also a decent team and we'll focus on ourselves to play the game that we have to. Every game is like a final now and it's with that in mind that we approach Frankfurt. Winning the Europa League would do us the world of good. The games will be complicated but we'll do our utmost to win the competition. Even in the Premier League the chief target is to keep winning and climb up the table."
Would lifting Europe's second-tier competition really make up for triple fiascos in the domestic competitions?
"Not winning it doesn't mean it's a negative season. Just like going the distance isn't synonymous with it being a positive one. This is not how we should look at things! We'll take it game by game and then see where that takes us."
What can you tell us about your countryman Hugo Ekitike?
"Hugo is a good player but we're also packed with some. I don't think he's their main threat, all their players are important not just him."
How would you judge your season on a personal level? Could you have been better stats-wise?
"The whole team can give more and we'll turn it around."
Can you promise the fans a goal against Frankfurt?
"I don't promise that I'll score."
