Norgaard: Brentford in Europe? Survival would be great already
Christian Norgaard has urged Brentford not to get "carried away" by losing touch with reality and suddenly dream about European football.
Just like his flourishing club, the Dane has been in impressive form this term.
Although there's been a World Cup campaign in between, the Bees' unbeaten run in the Premier League stretches to the end of October.
And since the restart manager Thomas Frank's side saw off both West Ham and Liverpool, fuelling the belief in some quarters that Brentford are good enough to give it a European go.
But ex-Fiorentina midfielder Norgaard was having none of it, telling Capital Football: "Haha, let's not get carried away.
"I think we're at a really good spot right now, middle of the league. Let's see, we take it game by game."
Although beating the drop is the chief goal, Norgaard believes that finishing this campaign among England's ten best sides, a club record, would represent something to be proud of.
He said: "Top ten would be great, of course. But it's still our second season in the Premier League so just survival is also big."
