Lewis-Potter's best yet - Frank delights in his improving winger's vital contribution
A dazzling, energetic display from Keane Lewis-Potter was his best yet in a Brentford shirt, according to Thomas Frank.
The Bees boss was full of praise for his team's fighting spirit as they battled back from 2-0 down - and a dreadful first 40 minutes - to secure a dramatic 4-3 win in the sixth minute of injury time.
But he was particularly mindful of the part played by his often under-valued winger.
"That was probably his best game," Frank said. "Very happy with him.
"He sparked the comeback. It was one action that sparked it, I think, and that came from Keane Lewis-Potter just before half-time.
"That action, with that touch or turn, running through three players and pass to Vitaly, then boom! Certainly it gave belief and the second half I thought we were by far the better team and deservedly won the game in the end.
"He created the penalty and the red card, constantly driving forward, taking players on. I'm very, very pleased with his performance."
Frank added: "At 3-3 the players kept going and got that little bit of a margin in the end with the cross that's going all the way in. But it's a big part of our strategy to cross in the box and have a lot of players in the box. When you do that, then you have a bigger possibility for scoring.
"{ipswich boss] Kieran McKenna set his team up well. The first 40 minutes I thought they were better than us and deservedly were 2-0 up. On the flip side, I thought we were bad. I think it was probably our worst 40 minutes in the Premier League, if I'm honest.
"But great mentality, great personality. It was a fantastic comeback in many ways."
Kristoffer Ajer was absent but is close to a return after picking up a minor foot injury. Tuesday's Carabao Cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday could come too soon for him but he is likely to be in contention for Monday week's trip to Fulham, Frank said.
