Djed Spence claimed that winning the Europa League would change the narrative around Tottenham Hotspur's season.
Ange Postecoglou's flops are 14th in the Premier League. They were also knocked out in the Carabao Cup semis by Liverpool while Aston Villa put paid to their hopes of FA Cup glory in the fourth-round already.
But if Tottenham were to go all the way in the Europa League and get their hands on the trophy in Bilbao's Estadio de San Mamés on 21st of May then quite a few bad memories would be erased.
Spence, who has been one of the revelations of the campaign, told Capital Football ahead of the quarter-final first-leg: "Frankfurt is definitely a big game for us and we take confidence from today [Southampton].
"I think we've struggled a lot with injuries this season.
"It hasn't been great but it's part of football.
"But if we win this trophy [the Europa League] it's definitely a successful season!
"It would be yeah."
