Damsgaard warns Newcastle: We're tough to beat and look forward to the game

Exclusive interview by Alessandro Schiavone

Mikkel Damsgaard has labelled today's opponents Newcastle a "very good team" as Brentford look to get their 1-0 defeat at Manchester United out of their system at the Gtech Community Stadium this afternoon.

The high-flying Bees' reversal at Old Trafford in midweek hasn't made it any easier for Thomas Frank's men to secure European qualification.

And locking horns with Toon who have convincingly defeated their last opponents 2-0 at St James' Park may just come at the worst possible time.

Dane Damsgaard exclusively told Capital Football: "Newcastle is a very good team, it's a tough week.

"I think it's one of the best teams in the Premier League for sure so it's gonna be a very tough game."

The Denmark international has backed his team to stand up to the incoming challenge, saying: "We're also very tough to beat so we're looking forward to it and fancy our chances."

On the European push, he said: "A lot can happen in a week so if we win the next match we're still close, so we can."
