A Londoner scores twice in the Champions League to edge closer to an England call-up

Club Bruges 0-3 Borussia Dortmund

Goals: Bynoe-Gittens, Bynoe-Gittens, Guirassy

A Londoner came off the bench to power Borussia Dortmund to a 3-0 win at Club Bruges on Wednesday night.

Super sub Jamie Bynoe-Gittens tried by hook and by crook to get the visitors off the mark after replacing Man United flop Marcel Sabitzer after 68 minutes.

But after he was stopped in his tracks by Seys minutes after coming on, he hit back in emphatic style with a quickfire brace.

His shot took a deflection off both Maxim de Cuyper and Joel Ordoñez to leave Simon Mignolet no chance.

And the lid came completely off for the hosts when he thumped home his second of the night after a myriad of mind-blowing Ronaldo France 1998-esque stepovers.

Serhou Guirassy completed the rout after chipping a penalty through the middle five minutes into stoppage-time.

Bynoe Gittens' introduction was manna from heaven for the Dortmunders who had been struggling for defence-splitting quality.

And the left-winger brought with him just that, a heightened sense of danger by turning his side's considerate approach into a more direct one.

Bruges didn't know how to deal with him and it was panic stations time and again when the ball was glued to his feet.

And on the basis of what he's shown already, having hit a career-high four goals less than one month into the new campaign, few would argue that an England call-up next month for the games against Greece and Finland is undeserved.
