Arsenal hammer Bate 6-0 to top Europa Group H


North London giants Arsenal completed their Europa Group H campaign by routing Belarus side Bate Borisov. 6-0 at the Emirates.

The goals flowed from the boots Mathieu Debuchy after just 11 minutes with further five strikes from Theo Walcott Jack Wilshere, an own goal by Denis Polyakov just after half-time and a penalty from Olivier Giroud on 64 before Mohamed El Neny completed the rout on 74' minutes.

Walcot said after the game: "There is plenty of competition when you play for Arsenal. We are doing our best to give the manager a headache to pick us for the team."

Wilshere, echoed the pain Arsene Wenger may have on selection for clash on the South Coast on Sunday against Southampton by saying: "All we can do when we get our opportunity is give the manager a headache."

As for Wenger, he said: "Jack's moving forward. He's sharp and incisive

"For 70 minutes he was dominant in midfield on the creative side and that's very good news for us."
